~was inspired by the Impressionist exhibit at @fristartmuseum and tried my own still life~

Not sure Monet and Renoir drank Aldi wine. And the onion looks more like an apple. But I bet they’d get it.

Wine 1/2 drunk. We trashed it after paint

Christmas cactus study. 8x10.

Highly textured monochromatic palette of beige, cream, greens and tans. Heavy impasto texture was applied thick to imply stucco or peeling plaster against an earthy natural surface. Meant to evoke a sense of weathered and distressed architecture.

Architectural abstract in rich textured reddish, rusty terracotta browns. Tactile surface suggests weathered brick or mud. Blurring lines between structure and nature.

I always get a little sad when seasons change. Like I didn’t “do enough” in the summer. We didn’t go canoeing, we never made it on a hike. I think we only grilled out once.
